| FAME 2006 Conference |
|
The FAME 2006 Conference is scheduled in Orlando on November 1-3 at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. SUNLINK is now scheduled to be in booth #407.
We will also have several sessions led by our SUNLINK trainer, John Prevosk:
- Thursday at 2 p.m.: "Gagging on Google?"
- Friday at 1 p.m.: "Look Like a Hero"
In typical SUNLINK fashion, we will have some surprises for you as well as some "cool" give-a-ways (both in your conference bag, at the booth, and at the sessions)! See you there!! Be sure to pre-register to get the BEST surprise! As they say, quantities are limited, and only those pre-registered for the conference and attending the conference will get this conference giveaway. Pre-registration also really helps your colleagues who work so hard to plan this event. Do it NOW! (http://www.floridamedia.org/conference/register.html)

SUNLINK Community Book Certificate Prizes! |
Have you posted an entry to the SUNLINK Community recently? If you do so before October 15, you will have a chance to win one of two $500 certificates for books for your library media center!
To post to the SUNLINK Community (http://sunlink.groupee.net/groupee), register first if you haven't, and then you can reply to someone else's post or create one of your own. Several people have posted questions or problems they need help with, so maybe you can help them and help your school library media collection at the same time!
You can also win by posting a comment on any article in the SUNLINK Announcements blog: http://sunlinkannouncements.blogspot.com. The winners will be chosen by SUNLINK on October 15, and will be announced at the FAME Conference. Good luck!

| ILL Statistics Form - Did You Get One? |
You should have received the annual ILL statistics work form and a brochure about ILL in the mail from SUNLINK. If you haven't received them, please download a form from our web site (http://www.sunlink.ucf.edu/publications/forms.html - near the bottom of the page under the Other Forms heading), or call (1-800-226-0085) or email to let us know and we’ll send the form and brochure out to you.
Keep track of any and all ILL actions (to schools within your district as well as with other districts) by making a "hash mark" on the work form as you request or send out an ILL. At the end of each month, it is then easy to add up your total. SUNLINK will send you a "clean" sheet with your school name towards the end of the school year. Simply transfer your counts from your worksheet to the final sheet and fax it to the SUNLINK office by the May 31 due date. (We are working on providing an online way for you to send in your ILL counts. We will let you know!) Remember SUNLINK ILL statistics are the ONLY statewide source of ILL statistics for K-12 schools, so please do include any borrowing or loaning that you do—with AND without SUNLINK. |

| SUNLINK School Directory Information Request |
What is the easiest way to get a LMS name/address/phone/fax number of a public K-12 school in Florida? The online SUNLINK School Directory! In the past we have sent out directory "forms" to each school to ask for current information in order to keep our database up-to-date. This year we are hoping that many of the districts in the state can provide that information for their schools. And many have already!
We will send out requests for updated directory information to all the schools in districts that did not provide updated 2006-2007 information at the beginning of this school year. If you receive a directory form request directly from SUNLINK, please make any changes or corrections and fax it back to us ASAP! We will then make the changes to the online directory. |

| SUNLINK School Directory Check |
It is always a good idea to check your school information in this online SUNLINK school directory (http://www.sunlink.ucf.edu/publications/appendix.html) each year to be sure the information is correct. No need to wait for the update form. Please take a minute and look at the directory information for your school. Let us know if changes are needed. Thanks! |
