| FAME 2006 Conference |
Thanks to all the conference attendees who stopped at the SUNLINK exhibit booth during the FAME 2006 Conference last week at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort! We enjoyed talking to each of you!
We hope you are proudly wearing your SUNLINK logo pin, and that you will put on that big and bright "Ask me about ILL. I can get it for you!" SuperHero button when working with students (and staff) in order to encourage Interlibrary Loans! Yes, SUNLINK is so much more than just a facilitator of resource sharing, but that was the original purpose when first funded by the Florida legislature. It was important then, and it is still an important service of all types of libraries. Watch for more news about ILL early next year!
Have you had time to look at the contents of the flash drive included in your FAME conference bag? There are a variety of valuable FAME, DOE, and SUNLINK files included on the drive. And room for you to add (or replace with) files of your own.

SUNLINK Community Book Certificate Prize Winners! |
Congratulations to our SUNLINK Community book certificate prize winners!
Joan Lourenco, from Forest High School in Marion County, and Linda Payne, from Lake Country Elementary School in Highlands County, are our winners! They both won $500 worth of books (of their choice) from Brodart Books. They won because they submitted comments to the SUNLINK announcements blog or the SUNLINK Community and were selected at random from all submissions made between June 15 and October 15.
While the contest has ended, you can still benefit from receiving and sharing information on either the community group or the announcement blog!
To post to the SUNLINK Community (http://sunlink.groupee.net/groupee), first register if you haven't, and then you can reply to someone else's post or create one of your own. Several people have posted questions or problems they need help with, so maybe you can help them and help your school library media program at the same time!
Go to http://sunlinkannouncements.blogspot.com/ to subscribe to the SUNLINK Announcements and never miss another "first to know" announcement about the library world! Or, if you use an RSS feed, add the URL to your Bloglines or other reader. |

| SUNLINK eStore |
After FAME 2006 and the especially enthusiastic response to the FINDS Pocket Pal, we are experiencing heavy demand to send out these materials from eStore requests. There will be some delays as we cope with the high number of requests coming in through the eStore.
Please be patient. Your requested materials WILL be sent out as soon as we can get to it! Please do not reorder! That will just slow down the process. |

| SUNLINK School Directory Information Request |
Have you returned the SUNLINK school directory information request if it was mailed to you last month? We directly mailed to schools when the districts could not provide a file with all updated school directory information (school, LMS, address, phone numbers). Our deadline for changing this information for ILL purposes is coming up very soon! If you have not faxed your form back to us, please do so ASAP (this week!).
If you did not receive a school directory information request from us, don't worry about it. Your district has provided us with that information so we didn't need to send a request to you.
Thanks to all: districts and individual schools for keeping our directory information up-to-date! |
