Use the "Format" menu to limit SUNLINK searches by any of the following formats:

• Audiovisual
• Books
• Computer Software
• Spoken Recordings
• Web Sites

If you chose not to search by a particular format, then the default "all" will gather all of the above-mentioned formats into one listing.

Combine the "Format" menu with other SUNLINK search fields and options to help zero in on specific types of resources.

Try these examples:

Combine the format "Audiovisual" with the truncated term closed caption* in the Quick Search field to locate DVD and video recordings for the hearing impaired or to provide reading practice. (Note: an asterisk at the end of a term employs truncation which will seek out records featuring both the terms "closed caption" and "closed captioned" for a maximum number of hits.)

Combine the format "Books" with the topic of dinosaurs and an AR level between 3 and 4 to find reading materials for elementary students.

Combine the format "Web Sites" with the "Interest Level" menu along with rainforests to find rainforest web sites of interest to primary grade students.
