is Quick Search?
Quick Search is the most powerful search field in SUNLINK.
How
does Quick Search work?
If you are looking for a word that appears anywhere in an indexed
field of a SUNLINK record (such as title, author, subject, contents
& series) use the Quick Search field.
Where
is Quick Search?
The Quick search field is prominently and conveniently located at
the top of the SUNLINK search screen.
Student
Quick Search Example:
Problem: I need a variety of resources on Bill Clinton to complete
my research project.

Results:
A title listing of print, AV, and web sites will appear. All of
these items will have the term "bill clinton" somewhere
in the bibliographic record. In the case of a person search, books
written by the person, as well as titles about the person will be
displayed.
Teacher
Quick Search Example:
Question: What's available to teach a unit on environmental degradation
(required by the Sunshine State Standards?) Note: SUNLINK is a handy
tool for teachers trying to implement the Sunshine State Standards.
Simply type any Sunshine State Standard key word or phrase into
the Quick Search field.

Results:
A title listing of print, AV, and web sites will appear. All of
these items will have the term "environmental degradation"
somewhere in the bibliographic record.
Media
Specialist Quick Search Example:
Problem: I need cataloging information for the book "8 Men
and a Duck." The ISBN# is 0743219287.

Results:Two
records with that ISBN# appear in the title listing. In this case
one record has a summary and the other does not. Choose the most
complete record, that being the record with the summary, and then
proceed to download the MARC record. Note: You can also search by
LCCN number in Quick Search.
Remember
to recommend to your students and teachers that Quick Search is
a good place to start when looking for materials in SUNLINK.
